How do I fix missing DLL Files?
Follow These Directions
- 1.Search and Find the Missing DLL
- 2.Download the .DLL File
- 3.Put the DLL back in it's location [?]
- 4.Run the Program that gave the error
Did you recently install or uninstall some software? Many applications use the same dll libraries. An uninstall can remove or unregister dll files used by other applications. Try reinstalling the uninstalled application and see if that resolves the issue. The same thing for installs. If you install an application and it replaces a DLL with either a newer or older version. That new dll may not have all the functions the other application needs to run.

Did you recently ok installation of an active x web installer? It pays to read up before installing active x applications. If it's not flash or quick time I would Google it and find out what it is. Maybe you installed some malware that has deleted or overwritten a dll on purpose.

Well they go a multitude of places. While the majority of dll files are located in C:\Windows\System\ or C:\Windows\System32\ on windows 98 and XP and in C:\WINNT\System\ and C:\WINNT\System32\ folders on Windows 2000, many dll files that are application specific go in the associated Program Files folder. Ex. C:\Program Files\Some Program Name Here\
So you would put the dll where the dll should go. If your not sure.. put it there anyway. Just don't overwrite any files. If you put it in the wrong place it won't hurt your computer. It will just be a useless file that no application needs.
