DLL Icon and Free DLL Icon Extractor
Many Icons are stored in DLL Files for quick and easy access. The DLL Icon can be considered something like a .ZIP File that contains DLL Files. It easy to access and even easier to copy locations. The only downside to this is that the end user without any prior programming skills can't access the raw images.

This utility scans the files and folders on your computer, and extract the icons and cursors stored in EXE, DLL, OCX, CPL, and in other file types. You can save the extracted icons to ICO files

With Icon DLL Extractor it makes it easy to get those ico files out of dlls and into a better graphical medium the .ico file. If you are unable to edit the Icon dll extracted from the dll try using MsPaint. Go to start... run... and type MSPAINT or look in the accessories area.
